Fire Prevention for Kids

Welcome to our Fire Prevention Page for Kids!

Hey kids! Do you know that learning about fire safety can be funOn this page, you’ll find awesome games, cool activities, and helpful tips that will teach you how to stay safe from fires. Let’s dive in and become fire safety heroes together!

Fire Safety Tips for Kids

1. Stop, Drop, and Roll:
If your clothes ever catch on fire, don’t run! Instead, stop where you are, drop to the ground, cover your face with your hands, and roll over and over until the fire is out.

2. Know Two Ways Out:
Every room should have two ways out in case of a fire. Make sure you know the exits from your house, like doors and windows, and practice using them with your family.

3. Don’t Play with Matches or Lighters:
Matches and lighters are tools, not toys! If you see them, tell an adult right away. Never touch them yourself.

4. Crawl Low Under Smoke:
If there’s smoke in the room, the air near the floor is clearer. Get down on your hands and knees and crawl to the nearest exit to stay safe.

5. Test Smoke Alarms Monthly:
Ask your parents to test the smoke alarms in your home every month to make sure they are working. These alarms will let you know if there is smoke or fire so you can get out safely.

6. Never Hide During a Fire:
If there’s a fire, don’t hide! Go to the nearest exit as fast as you can. Make sure you know where to meet your family outside.

7. Call 9-1-1 for Help:
If there is a fire, get out of the house first, then call 9-1-1. Make sure you know your address so the firefighters can find you quickly!

8. Stay Away from Hot Things:
Stoves, ovens, heaters, and candles are all hot and can start fires. Always keep a safe distance from anything that could burn you.
